    COURBEVOIE 2010 - maintenant Controlling & Performance Control Manager for the TOTAL Raffinerie Mitteldeutschland, Leuna (TOTAL DE) :

     Controlling : control of fixed and variable costs, monthly reporting, financial closure processes for the refinery in collaboration with TOTAL Deutschland Finance department in Berlin and Paris central Controlling teams. In charge of local costs-related action plans to improve costs awareness culture within the refinery. Responsible for controlling CAPEX expenditures, participation in refinery Investments Committee for the validation of new investment projects.

     Responsible for the coordination and elaboration of the yearly and 10-years budgets for the refinery : definition of technical assumptions (units availability and performance) and related performance indicators, forecast of complete refinery costs, valorisation of projects and investments, financials gap-analysis (breakeven point, ROACE, capital employed...). Collaboration with central Strategy department in Paris.

     Performance Control : refinery monthly performance reviews, post-program and retro-optimisations investigations with linear programming, real-time performance control (weekly follow-up), blending give away analysis, valorisation studies for future investments

     coordination of Solomon studies for TRM

  • TOTAL - Planning & valorisation management for TOTAL refinery in UK

    COURBEVOIE 2007 - 2010 Optimising supply and operations of a 220 kbbl/d refinery in the UK.

     Opportunities assessment and economics monitoring : supply of alternative high-margin crudes, arbitrage trading of feedstocks and finished products, tracking of European commodities market evolutions and of inland UK demand
     Responsible for the refinery's monthly program optimisation : operations coordination with the refinery’s planning department
     Responsible for valuation assessments of economic refinery slowdowns/part-shutdown in depressed margins environments including risk management investigations
     Crude supply optimization (11 cargos/month) : opportunities/arbitrage between North Sea, West Africa, Mediterranean and Mexican sourced crudes
     Internal supply optimisation in close coordination with TOTSA trading teams, other european TOTAL Raffinage pilotage teams and TOTAL Petrochemicals (propylene, benzene) in Brussels
     UK downstream supply chain optimisation : analysis of products liftings with Marketing, Supply and Trading teams in the UK
     Risk management in coopoeration with dedicated internal teams (paper operations)
     Specific supply preparation of 2009 and 2010 major T&Is : optimisation of products supply and stocks, use of multi-period LP modeling
     Valorisation of business interruption insurance claim
     Detailed analysis of the refinery's monthly operational result and breakeven point

  • TOTAL - Scheduling engineer in TOTAL Refinery in Antwerp

    COURBEVOIE 2004 - 2007 Scheduling daily operations of a 18 Mt/y refinery in Antwerp:

    - scheduling of crude terminals in Rotterdam and pipeline operations to supply the refinery,
    - optimisation of refinery feedstocks and scheduling of process units,
    - blending optimisation of gasolines, middle distillates and fuels oils,
    - stocks management and planning of liftings (barges, cargos, pipelines, trucks),
    - assessment of opportunities (arbitrage and products exports, alternative crudes, refinery constraints etc.),
    - synergy with integrated petrochemical plant (propylene, naphtha, aromatics).
  • TOTAL - Project manager for development of scheduling models in refineries

    COURBEVOIE 2000 - 2004 Managing the development and implementation of scheduling systems in the refining industry:

    - project management,
    - modelling of industrial process units and operations,
    - development of crude selection methodology
    - build up of in-house expertise in scheduling models and integration of industrial data (inventories, process flows, lab data and quality etc.).
