Paris2016 - 2016Worked on a Continuous Improvement Project (CIP) in the Paint Area (PA) and played other supportive roles within the PA and other parts of the plant.
This internship offered plenty of insight into manufacturing and specifically, the processes involved in manufacturing high quality light vehicles.
Accomplishments and functions:
-Organized and successfully ran an experiment in coordination with Ford VO Paint Engineers in order to improve paint adherence on the 2017 Fusion model gas doors.
-Used SPC methods to asses/control the PA process capability. (I was in charge of producing quality control reports, which were handed to management on a weekly basis.)
Supportive roles:.
- Supported the VRT (Variability Reduction Team) leader on a 6-Sigma Green Belt Project.
-Helped the Paint Department prepare for a performance audit by J.D. Power
-Translated the "Global Paint and Engineering Plan Processing Standard" as well as other documents from English into Spanish.
-Trained and guided new interns and trainees during my last two weeks in the plant.
