  • IATA (International Air Transport Association) - Project Manager, Fast Travel Programme

    2008 - 2013 Fast Travel is part of Simplifying the Business, a program which mission is to change the way the air transport industry operates – resulting in better service for passengers and lower costs for the industry. The current StB programme will save the industry up to US$16.8 billion every year.
    IATA’s Fast Travel Program is providing self-service options in six areas of passengers’ airport journey - representing annual savings of up to US$2 billion for the industry.

    I am responsible for the programme globally, which includes six individual projects (check-in, bags ready to go, document check, flight re-booking, self boarding). Major responsibilities include:
    - Business Case development
    - Strategy management, vision and mission statement
    - Management of industry workgroups (300 professionals from airlines, airports, regulatory agencies and technology suppliers)
    - Development of standards, recommended practices for each area of the programme
    - Representing IATA at industry events and conferences worldwide, delivering presentations and participating to panels of discussions.
    - Animate a global network of 150+ regional and country managers to mobilize, engage and lobby the industry (through both general campaigns and monthly engagement activities targeting 20.000 stakeholders in the airline industry).

    Key Successes:
    - Exceeded Board stretched targets every year since the beginning of the programme
    - Developed and get 5 recommended practices published
    - Lobby major stakeholders like US TSA (Transportation Security Agency) to allow for project implementation requiring change of regulation (e.g. self tagging)
    - IATA Gold Award received in 2010 from IATA’s DG and CEO in recognition of outstanding contribution to IATA.
  • IER - Vice President Sales IER Software Solutions

    Suresnes 2007 - 2008 In August 2007, IER identified the software activity as a strategic growth opportunity for the company in the future and decided to create a dedicated business unit for software solutions. I was responsible for this new activity.

    - Member of the Group Management Committee.
    - Business Plan of the activity
    - Product marketing and product range definition: responsible for portfolio of existing products
    . Airlines Financial Software: Passenger and Cargo Revenue Accounting
    . Airlines Operations Software: Flight Scheduling and Crew Management
    . Airlines Full Self Service Check-In Suite: CUSS Platform, CUSS Kiosk Application Check-in, Internet Check-in, Telephone (WAP & SMS) Check-In, Mobile Boarding Pass delivery (2D BarCode MMS to mobile phone)
    - Worldwide Sales responsibility for the activity (animation of the IER Sales Force , product training, )
    - Management of partner companies for the development of our software products.
    - 2007 Revenue is 1,2 M€, Target 2008 is 5M €, Target 2010 is 10M€.
  • IER - Vice President Marketing

    Suresnes 2006 - 2007 - Member of the Group Management Committee and reporting directly to the COO.
    - Responsible for strategic, product and operational marketing for IER Transport Industry Division worldwide.
    - Responsible for internal, external and corporate communication.
    - Staff = 4 product managers, 4 communication staff
    In charge of all market surveys, market positioning of the IER product range.
    Responsible for new product software and services definition, specification and launches. Within the travel and transport industry.
    Pricing and margin definition of the company’s portfolio
    Responsible for producing and monitoring the company’s business plan for the next 3 years.
    Manage strategic partnerships with subcontractors or software partners
    Represent IER during industry business conferences (IATA, OACI, ACI..)
  • IER - General Manager Northern Europe

    Suresnes 2001 - 2006 Based in London
    General Manager of the IER subsidiary in the UK and responsible for Northern Europe sales activity (UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, Baltic Reps.)
    - Staff = UK: 19 people, Sweden: 5 people - Region Annual revenue: 12 M EUR
    - Responsible for P&L and day to day running of both UK and Swedish companies.
    - Responsible for hardware and service sales of the Region and customer service activity in both subsidiaries.
    - Direct sales and contract negotiations at board level with key customers like major airlines (British airways, SAS,
    British Midland, Virgin…), GDSs (Amadeus, Sabre, Worldspan, Galileo), Airports (BAA, TBI..) and Railways.
    - Managing the service centers activity (Operations, SLA, supply chain)
    Key Successes:
    - Easyjet design and implementation of their 100% self service check-in solution currently deployed in the UK, Germany and Switzerland.
    - BAA (British Airport Authority) : CUSS (Common Use Self Service) for its 7 airports in the UK (LHR-LGW-STN-GLA-EDI –ABZ-SOU). This is a 5 year contract / framework agreement for the complete managed solution including hardware, software, integration services, maintenance and support
    - Norwegian Air Shuttle (LCC in Norway). Biggest Self Check-In project sold by IER to date (including hardware, platform software, application software, support and maintenance for 9 locations)
    - MiSense : Participation in one of the largest and most comprehensive trials of biometrically enabled access control ever to be conducted in an operational transport environment. the full passenger journey trial MiSense organise by the IATA SPT Regional Group

    In 2005, also appointed General Manager of Automatic Systems Ltd, the UK subsidiary of IER’s sister company in Belgium.
    Automatic Systems is the leading company for access control in bothe the pedestrian and vehicle market.
    The UK subsidiary is located in Tamwoth near Birmingham. 7 staff members are working for the company
