  • MERCK-SERONO - Student in Cellular Receptors Biology

    Lyon 2008 - 2008 Main Tasks:
At the cross road of both Chemistry and Biology departments, the Lead Discovery Technology Department (LDT) is responsible for the delivery of drug candidates to the therapeutic areas of Neurology, AutoImmunity, Inflammation and Dermatology (NAIID).

    Purpose of the Role:
Participate in the department specific goal which is to develop molecular and cellular assays that are then used to support Lead identification efficiently as well as to determine the molecular and cellular modes of action of molecules exhibiting high potency.

    Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
Explore the mode of action of small molecules signaling through cell receptors.
Study receptor fate in intact cells by a dual proteomics/cell-imaging approach, given the importance of the receptors homeostasis following their activation by highly potent agonists among which some molecules are expected to be the next generation of drug candidates.
