Having studied tourism to a very high level at university in my home country of Italy, I now work as a Sales Consultant at the Lugano Branch of Shoestring, part of Kuoni Travel Ltd. I have been passionate about tourism from a young age and am a very customer orientated person, as I grew up helping my parents to run their agritourism business in Umbria, Italy.
I have two degrees from the University of Assisi: Economics and Management of Tourism Services (2005) and Tourism Economics. Marketing interests me in particular and I therefore chose this subject for both of my theses. I was delighted to have the opportunity to start my career with Kuoni and love working in an international environment where I can use my language skills. The office language is English but I also speak Italian and Spanish on a daily basis. Although working for Shoestring has given me an invaluable insight into Sales and Operations, I am now looking for a new opportunity and am extremely interested in working in Destination Management. I am also keen to work in another country and improve my language skills.
Responsibilities: to provide a high level of customer service by telephone and email and to help clients book online using an advanced computer system. Responsibilities in Operations: communicating with overseas agents to make arrangements for tours, updating and monitoring the Computer Reservation System of the company (Globus).
